Happy Birthday Amar!

Happy Birthday Amar!

Amar has 11 years of experience at Academy Ford.  He started out at the local High Point High School Vo Tech program.   Soon after he joined our Quick Lube team working on our oil change customers’ vehicles, which inspired him to enroll in the Ford ASSET program at Catonsville Community College. He is now one of our Service Technicians specializing in drivability.  Amar believes that his proficiency in this role is due to his education as well as the strong team of mentors here at Academy Ford, which happens to include his father.  The team of mentors really pulls together and when there is a learning opportunity; they make sure to share it with everyone.  His favorite part of the job is the sense of accomplishment he feels when identifying a customer’s vehicle’s issue and providing a sound solution and some relief to the customer.

Amar likes working at Academy Ford because of the environment here.  Everyone works together and respects each other.  There are great opportunities!  His career path alone illustrates how you can begin doing oil changes and end up in a more advanced specialty.  Then once you to get to a certain level you become the mentor to the new members of the team.

Amar was born in Trinidad and raised in Boston, MA.  He has been a local resident in Maryland since 1997.  He spends his time outside of work remodeling a home he just purchased.  His favorite food is anything his mother makes, which mainly is West Indian food. His preferred super power would be x-ray vision so he could diagnosis vehicle issues faster.  If he could be an animal he would be a snow leopard because it is so unique.

Other birthdays this month at Academy Ford: Joshua Gordon, Derek Watson, Christopher Smith in Service and Nicholas Carter in Parts.  Happy Birthday to them as well!
