It’s hard to compare.  But, in the sake of a good match-up here goes:

So, we have the GT500 in the left corner weighing in at 3,850 pounds while the ZL1 is in the right corner weighing in at a hefty 4,120 pounds.

Both the Mustang Shelby GT500 and Camaro ZL1 are powerful machines. You can clearly see on the front end of each car large air vents to help cool things off under the hood, which is absolutely necessary considering the Shelby GT500 is powered by a 5.8-liter V8 with 650hp while the Camaro ZL1 has a 6.2-liter V8 with 580hp.

We can’t help but point out that this gives the GT500 the upper hand when it comes to the power to weight ratio.

Round 1:  Ding Ding! The GT500 prevails!

Both the GT500 and ZL1 are equipped with quad exhaust, a rear diffuser, rocker extensions, and a spoiler.

Round 2: Ding, Ding! To close to call; it’s a tie!

Do you want the biggest numbers, the best stats, and the lowest price of entry?

If so, Round 3: Ding, Ding! The GT500 Wins Again!

GT500: 0-60 mph 3.6    Quarter Mile 11.5

ZL1: 0-60 mph 4.1    Quarter Mile 12.1

Round 4: Ding, Ding! The GT500 is too fast to catch!

The GT500 has already transcended the pure muscle car genre to become a legitimate, world-class sports car. Add with this year’s suspension tuning and another 100 horsepower we may even start tossing around the “S” word, Supercar.

As the pony car wars continue, we have given you the first 4 rounds…What other rounds do you see in this drag out match-up? And who do you see as being victorious?
