When it comes to the vehicle inspection, only Chevrolet comes close to the thoroughness of the Ford inspection as far as a sheer numbers standpoint. But, when you take a closer look at the inspections’ checklists, there is a noticeable difference to the method of determining the number of points the inspection has, for example, when it comes to checking the tires’ tread and brake pad thickness Chevrolet will count this as 4 points of their inspection one for each tire/brake pad. In comparison Ford will only count this as 2 points of their inspection one for all tires and one for all brake pads. Basically, we would encourage you to take a closer look to really understand what the manufacturers are inspecting instead of just comparing the number of points in the inspections.
Vehicle History Report
Every manufacturer that we looked into does in fact pull a vehicle history report, which checks for fire damage, flood damage, frame damage, salvage vehicles, branded title, odometer issues, accident history, and vehicle title history.
Across the board the warranty programs are very similar with only Chevrolet having the 5 year vs. 7 year time restriction.
The non-powertrain warranties are basically the same across the board.
The only major difference with Roadside Assistance is the fact that Honda will only cover towing if it is related to an issue involving something covered by warranty in comparison to the other manufacturers. For example, Ford’s towing coverage goes beyond that; the Ford Roadside Assistance will go up to $100 for warranty & non-warranty problems, including accidents. Plus, if you are 100 miles or more away from your home they will reimburse you up to $500 for up to 3 days of lodging, meals, & rental vehicle expenses accrued during a under warranty breakdown.
