Pre-Winter Car Care is more important than you may think.  Mechanical failure is bad news no matter what, but in the winter it could be fatal.  That is why were are here to share with you some Pre-Winter Car Care Tips to get you ready for the upcoming winter weather conditions.  We don’t want you to be caught unprepared for the first blast of winter weather. Before the snow flies, it’s important to treat your vehicle to some Pre-Winter Car Care.  Some of these tips an be performed by any DIYer, but others really should be brought in to your Ford Master Certified Technicians at Academy Ford.

The first aspect of your vehicle that should get some Pre-Winter Car Care is your Engine.

If you are experiencing any engine drivability problems such as, hard starts, rough idling  stalling, diminished power you should get these issues corrected ASAP by one of your Ford Master Certified Technicians at Academy Ford.  The reason being in cold weather these existing problems will worsen.  

DIYers, the cause could be dirty air, fuel and/or PCV filters. So, if you haven’t replaced your dirty filters recently now is a good time to do it.  Check out this easy step by step guide, showing you How to Replace Your Air Filter, if you need a little help.  

If that doesn’t seem to help, have your Ford Master Certified Technicians at Academy Ford do a diagnostic check-up of the engine.  A great Pre-Winter Car Care investment! If you’re due for a tune-up, have it done before winter sets in. Faulty wiring, worn spark plugs, a sticking choke or emission control devices that need attention, can all cause problems when starting your car.

Engine mechanical failure is an inconvenience anytime  but, it can be deadly in the winter.  Preventative maintenance is a must!
